Discipline in the Waiting

Advent Week 1
Advent is marked by expectation, anticipation, preparation, and longing. God’s people are yearning to see His deliverance in the world, which was first expressed by Israelite slaves in Egypt. It is the cry of those who have experienced injustice, and yet who have hope of deliverance by a God who has heard the cries of His people! So, in short, Advent is all about waiting with expectancy. And as we wait, we are filled with hope. This year, we celebrate Christmas, as we long with hope for the breaking in of the Kingdom of God in the here and now, and His ultimate glorious return.
