“May you be covered in the dust of your rabbi", was a well known Hebrew blessing from the 1st Century that underscored the tangible reality of a disciple that followed so closely to their rabbi that they would be covered in the dust of the road as they walked in their footsteps, and in the dust of the ground as they sat to learn at their feet.
